Nonlinearity

Audio/Video Glossary - NonlinearityThe amount by which the video output signal, when subjected to any load within its capacity, differs from an ideally linear output. The greater the deviance, the greater the distortion* of the video signal, resulting in both black and white and color problems. All good amplifiers /processing devices are designed to contend with nonlinearity.
